TMJ Replacement - Stock Prosthesis

Forth now distributes to the Oral & Maxillo-Facial speciality with the Biomet Microfixation (formerly W Lorenz) TMJ Replacement System. The design and materials utilised in this temporomandibular joint prosthesis incorporate Biomet's 30 years of orthopaedic total joint experience. The TMJ Replacement System has been manufactured and clinically used since July 1995, since which time, over 400 patients have been implanted with the prosthesis - yielding a 96% patient success rate.

Designed for reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint, the system comprises a cobalt chromium alloy mandibular (condylar) prosthesis available in three sizes (a titanium version is also available) and a fossa prosthesis made of Arcom Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), also available in three sizes allowing for excellent articulation of the joint.
